14才からアナログ盤を集め始め、16才の頃から自己流でDJを始める。92年単身でニューヨークへ渡り、プレイしているところを彼女が尊敬するFUNKMASTER FLEXの目に留まり、彼が率いるBig Dawg　Pitbulls唯一の女性DJとして迎え入れられる。これまでに音楽界以外でもマイケル・ジョーダン、マジック・ジョンソン、マイク・タイソン等スーパーセレブからも彼らのパーティでのDJ依頼を受けるまでになる。その後、ニューヨークのNo.１ラジオ局Hot 97にて日本人としては初となるDJプレイを披露、US以外でもUK、フランスなどでもワールドワイドに活躍。日本では04年にリリースされた2枚組ミックスCD『Ride Into The Party』『Ride Into The Mix』、05年のミックスCD『INMIX』はそれぞれメガ・ヒット。そして06年11月にリリースされた『INMIX II』はオリコン初登場6位という史上最高位を獲得し、現在20万枚を超えロングセラー中。日本のミックスCD史上最大のセールス記録を更新している。ミックスCD以外にもDouble、安室奈美恵等のリミックスを手掛け、最近では歌手としても活躍。そのファッションセンスやライフスタイルでも10〜20代の女の子の憧れの的となっている。

Started collecting vinyl records when she was fourteen and DJing on her own way when sixteen, and headed to New York by herself in 1992. Then her play caught the notice of FUNKMASTER FLEX she has respected, who brought her to his Big Dawg Pitbulls as an only female DJ. Kaori has also played at parties held by celebrities such as Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Mike Tyson and so on. She also became the first Japanese to play on Hot 97, known as the best radio station, and performed in U.K. and France as well as in U.S. In Japan, albums such as a combination of "Ride Into The Party" and "Ride Into The Mix" in 2004, and "IN MIX" in 2005 both became megahits. And finally, "IN MIX II", released last November, ranked sixth of the ORICON chart as her best ever. The album has the best selling record in the history of the category. Now she also sings while working on remixing for Double and Namie Amuro. Her sense of fashion and way of life attracts young girls.

撮った写真がすぐ見れるのがデジタルカメラのいいとこだとおもいます！！私の場合写真といえば、人物を撮る事が多いですね,,。景色を撮るにしても記念写真のように自分が写り込んでるようなやつばかり思わず撮ってしまっています。（笑）自分の歩いて来た道、日々の記録として、毎日日記を付ける程マメじゃない私にとって、写真が、私の経験したかけがえのない色んな瞬間を思い出させてくれる大切なツールとなってるんですね,,。

The good thing about a digital camera is that you can see pictures right after they were taken. I tend to take pictures of people. Even when I take those of scenery, I get myself in frame. I'm not so diligent as to keep a journal so photographs remind me my irreplaceable moments.
