1998年高校の同級生（鹿児島出身）であったユウ（G&Vo）アッコ（B&Vo）が結成。
1999年ターキー（Dr）が加わり2000年シングル「太陽」でデビュー。
「ジェットにんぢん」「こいのうた」「C7」「浮舟」等、多数のヒット曲を発表。
以降、オリジナリティ溢れる楽曲と高い演奏力を武器にライヴハウスから日本武道館まで、ライヴを中心とした活動を精力的に展開。
2007年には海外へも活動を広げ、アメリカツアーを敢行。
2008年「2マンTour徹子のHair」、日比谷野外音楽堂2Days、夏フェス出演、「新・エレキ大作戦Vol2」「おまたせツアー」「ねんまツアー」と激動のライブイヤーとなった。
2009年1月14日 14thシングル「ふたしかたしか」、2月4日 7thアルバム「アンテナ」をリリース。 3月から全国30ヶ所を巡る「ヘンテナツアー09」10月にはチャットモンチー、BLACK BOTTOM BRASS BAND、BEAT CRUSADERの3バンドを迎え、メンバー企画イベント「新・エレキ大作戦 Vol.3」を3日間、Shibuya O-WESTにて開催。秋にも数々のイベント、「たこやきツアー」と題して学園祭、ホールシリーズの「8869　CIRCUIT」大阪、仙台、東京、名古屋の4ヶ所を2daysで廻る「ねんまツアー09」と充実した活動を行っている。
2010年にデビュー10周年を迎える。

GO!GO!7188 was formed in 1998 by YUU(singer/guitarist) and AKKO(singer/bassist), high school classmates in Kagoshima prefecture. In 1999, they added TURKEY, a drummer, to the band and made their major debut with "Taiyo" from TOSHIBA EMI in 2000, followed by single hits such as "Jet Ninjin," "Koino Uta," "C7," and "Ukifune." They have raised their evaluation as one of most important Japanese rock bands, making performances in live houses events to Nippon Budokan hall, with songs which is full of originality and high performance ability. In 2007, they played abroad including United States. Last year, they played many live shows, for example, Hibiya Yagai Ongakudo Two Days, summer festivals, "Shin Ereki Daisakusen Vol.2," "Omatase Tour," and "Nenma-Tour." On January 14th, this year, their fourteenth single tune called "Fuatashikatashika" was released followed by their seventh album, "Antenna." In March they conducted "Hentenna Tour" touring thirty cities and in October they held a three-days-straight event "Shin Ereki Daisakusen Vol.3" at Shibuya O-WEST, having chatmonchy, BLACK BOTTOM BRASS BAND, and BEAT CRUSADER. In autumn, they appeared in campus festivals titled "Takoyaki Tour," "8869 CORCUIT" series of performing in halls, and "Nenma-Tour '09" touring Osaka, Sendai, Tokyo, and Nagoya. And coming 2010 is their tenth anniversary.

ハイスピード撮影がすごく楽しくていいです。何を撮ってもなんか感動的なシーンに見えます。もっと面白い使い方を色々研究したいです！今までデジタルカメラの習慣のなかった私ですが、撮りたい瞬間にパッとカメラでも動画でも綺麗に撮れるので、普段から持ち歩いてないと損っていう感じです。

I enjoyed high-speed function. You can have touching pictures whatever you take. I wanna find more interesting usage. I was not used to a digital camera but now I feel like carrying it with me because it allows me to take still pictures or movies anytime I want.

普段デジタルカメラを持ち歩く習慣がなかったので久しぶりに手にしたカメラの性能にはビックリ！！特にハイスピードはハマりますな～。ライヴはもちろん、全国のおもしろステキ写真をたくさん撮りたいと思います～☆

I was surprised at functions the camera has for the first time in years because I was not used to using a camera. Especially high-speed function. I'm gonna take a lot of pictures of lives shows and nice and funny moments across the country.
